A Kiwi child’s surgery at Franklin Hospital recently faced a last-minute challenge when essential tools were stuck at customs. But thanks to incredible teamwork, the operation went on as planned.
Rod Cutler from OrthoPediatrics immediately flew from Sydney to Auckland, ensuring the surgical set arrived in New Zealand. Ben Willis of ORB Medical took it from there, delivering the tools to the hospital by 8 p.m., just in time for the surgery.
Their combined effort shows what’s possible when people go above and beyond to make sure patients get the care they need. It’s not just about getting the tools in place—it’s about supporting surgeons in delivering life-changing outcomes.
For this child, that meant the surgery happened on time, and they’re one step closer to recovery.
